Our History

BEGINNINGS: As a ministry of Wawarsing Gospel Church, Little Lambs Preschool was founded in 1981 as a Christian preschool designed to serve Christian families in the community, providing a safe haven for children to escape the worldly influence of the public-school system. Our administrator and teachers that faithfully served were qualified, well-educated, caring mothers and fathers from the local church’s families seeking a biblically based education for their own children.

GROWTH: In subsequent years, our school was expanded to serve grades pre-k through eighth, and Wawarsing Christian Academy was born. As the beginning pre-school students grew and the community took an avid interest in private, Christian education, increased enrollment created a need for a high school to be added.

PRESENT DAY: As of July 2019, Community Bible Church has been restructured, and is now Christ the King Reformed Baptist Church.  As a continuing ministry of the church, the school has been renamed Christ Academy. While the name has changed, the mission will remain the same:  To be pleasing to our Creator, Christ Academy will seek to honor God by providing a Biblically based, academically rigorous education for its students in partnership with their parents.

Our Beliefs

Christ Academy is Evangelical and Reformed Baptist in its doctrine; embracing the essential truths of orthodox Christianity as articulated in the creeds, confessions, and systems of doctrine of the Protestant Reformation. For a more detailed articulation of our doctrinal commitments, see the London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689 in the “learn more” button above. The LBC is a compendium of theology that we believe best summarizes the teaching of Scripture.

What We Offer

Christ Academy offers a rigorous, Christian education experience for students in preschool through eighth grade.
